About the Author — 

  • Born December 11, 1931, in Kuchwada, Madhya Pradesh, Osho earned a Master's degree in Philosophy and became a renowned public speaker across India before founding his Pune ashram in the 1970s .

  • Known for merging Eastern spiritual traditions with Western psychology, he emphasized meditation, celebration, love, and an open attitude toward sexuality—earning both devoted followers and fierce critics .

  • His movement peaked with the establishment of Rajneeshpuram in Oregon (1981–1985), which became embroiled in legal and social controversies, including his eventual deportation from the U.S.

  • After returning to India, he continued teaching until his death on January 19, 1990. His legacy lives on through hundreds of published books and the ongoing OSHO International Meditation Resort in Pune
