Beyond his corporate achievements, Krishnamurthy served on various esteemed institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Management (Ahmedabad and Bangalore), Indian Institute of Technology (Delhi), and Xavier Institute of Management (Bhubaneswar). He was also a member of the National Advisory Council and held significant positions in the Union Planning Commission. Conferred with the Padma Vibhushan in 2007, his legacy continues to inspire public sector management and industrial development in India.
