About the Author

Goshi Yamaguchi (b. 28 Sept 1942, Shinkyō, Manchuria) is the son of Gōgen Yamaguchi—the legendary “Cat” who propagated Goju Ryu globally . He began training at age 8 under his father at Asakusa’s Senzoku Dojo. By the 1960s, he was teaching internationally and, after graduating from Nihon University (cinema studies), became a full-time Shihan at the Hombu dojo. In 1990, he was appointed Saiko Shihan (Grand Master) and President of both the All Japan and International Karate‑do Goju‑kai Associations .
An energetic ambassador for Goju Ryu, Goshi Yamaguchi introduced kumite-centric training and spread it throughout 40+ countries. His depth of experience and rich photographic guides make this book a standout for serious karate students
