About the Author

Krishnamurthy Subramanian is an Indian economist and academic known for his influential roles in economic policy and his contributions to financial economics.

Education and Academic Background

  • B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.

  • MBA from IIM Calcutta, where he was awarded a gold medal and placed on the Institute's Roll of Honour.

  • Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, under the supervision of Professors Luigi Zingales and Raghuram Rajan. His doctoral research earned him the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation Dissertation Fellowship in 2005 .
