About the Author

Sunder Chand Thakur is a multifaceted personality—an author, poet, journalist, and seasoned marathon runner. Hailing from Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, he holds a B.Sc. and a postgraduate diploma in Management. After serving as an officer in the Indian Army, including deployment in the UN peacekeeping mission in Somalia, he transitioned into journalism. He joined Nava Bharat Times, and eventually became its Mumbai local editor
An accomplished writer, his works span poetry, fiction, translation, and motivational columns. Notable titles include the poetry collections Kisi Rang Ki Chhaya (2001) and Ek Duniya Hai Asankhya (2013), the stories Dimple Wali Ladki aur Bouddhik Premi, and the novel Patthar Par Doob. As a writer-runner, he has completed about 50 marathons—including the famed 90 km Comrades Marathon in South Africa—and Khud Se Jeet is described as the first book in Hindi that blends his marathon journey with his literary and spiritual insights.
