About the Author:

T.V. Padma, born on November 13, 1969, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is an Indian-American author and scientist. She completed her undergraduate studies at St. Joseph's College, Bangalore, earning Bachelor's degrees in Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Botany. Padma then pursued graduate studies in the United States, obtaining a Master's degree and a Doctorate from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. She has conducted postdoctoral research in Environmental Engineering at Johns Hopkins University and has worked in Germany at an institute formerly known as Ifm, now known as Geomar. In addition to her scientific endeavors, Padma has served as head of Inwoods Small School and taught oceanography, directing diversity efforts at the University of Rhode Island. 

About the Illustrator: 

Proiti Roy is a renowned Indian illustrator and designer, celebrated for her work in children's literature. She graduated with a Fine Arts degree from Shantiniketan, West Bengal, and initially worked in advertising and manufacturing in India and Bangladesh. Later, she transitioned to illustrating children's books, a field she has been passionate about since childhood. Roy has illustrated numerous picture books, textbooks, and magazine articles, collaborating with publishers such as Tulika Books, Orient Blackswan, and Johns Hopkins University. Her illustrations are characterized by their vibrant colors and engaging designs, which captivate young audiences. Currently, she resides in Shantiniketan, West Bengal, where she continues her artistic endeavors and is actively involved in rescuing and caring for street animals.
