Book Summary

"Hide & Seek & Destroy" is a standalone story featured in the Sonic the Hedgehog Free Comic Book Day 2010 issue. The story takes place in the ruins of New Megaopolis, where Sonic searches for Dr. Eggman, convinced he's hiding within the Eggdome. Sonic's suspicions are confirmed as Eggman watches him on monitors, gloating over his inability to find him.

As Sonic navigates the Eggdome, he's stalked by the Krudzu Hybrid Hydra, a plant-based Badnik created by Dr. Robotnik. The Hydra attacks Sonic, who initially appreciates its "old-school flair" but soon finds himself overwhelmed. Just as the Hydra is about to deliver the final blow, Eggman intervenes, dispatching a robotic hummingbird to stop the Hydra. Eggman reveals he intends to eliminate Sonic himself, at his own chosen time, and won't allow anything to take that from him.¹

The story "Hide & Seek & Destroy" is written by Ian Flynn, with pencils by James Fry and inks by Jim Amash. The cover art is designed by Tracy Yardley and Jason Jensen. This issue is edited by Mike Pellerito and Victor Gorelick, with special thanks to SEGA Licensing.
