There, he encounters two strange species:

  • The Eloi: gentle, childlike people who live a carefree life on the surface.

  • The Morlocks: brutish, nocturnal creatures who dwell underground and maintain the machinery of the world.

As the Time Traveller observes their societies, he realizes a disturbing truth: the Eloi are not the dominant species but are instead being preyed upon by the Morlocks, who represent the darker side of technological and social evolution. The novella delves into themes of class division, technological advancement, and human degeneration.

Eventually, the Time Traveller escapes the Morlocks and travels even farther into the future, witnessing the Earth’s final days before returning to his own time. He tells his story to his skeptical peers—then vanishes again, never to return.

About the Author – 

Herbert George Wells was a prolific English writer, often called the "father of science fiction." He pioneered the genre with other major works such as:
