Harsha Venilal Dehejia, born in Malabar Hill in South Mumbai in 1938, is a physician, scholar of Indian aesthetics, author, and longtime radio host. With dual doctorates in Medicine and Ancient Indian Culture from Mumbai University, he moved to Canada in the late 1960s and joined Carleton University in Ottawa as Professor of Indian StudiesFor over four decades, he hosted An Indian Morning on CKCU‑FM, becoming a beloved voice of the South Asian Diaspora. He has authored over 30 books on Indian art, mythology, aesthetics, and culture, and earned recognition such as the 2003 Raja Rao Award for his contributions to diaspora literature and culture. In 2017, he published Walk With Me on Mumbai Footpaths, reflecting his lifelong fascination with Mumbai’s streetscape and human stories that thrive there.
